The course will help you understand the language and terminology used in footwear design and manufacture. It will enable you to communicate and negotiate with suppliers from a position of confidence while also helping you develop your own "good shoe/bad shoe" antenna and keep you from making expensive buying mistakes. The course includes hands on demonstrations explaining the different constructions, materials and processes used in modern footwear manufacturing together with tips, basic foot anatomy, trends analysis and advice and guidance for successful footwear buying.

ABOUT YOUR TUTOR
Tutor Julian Berwick has worked as a designer with many buyers from designer and high street brands including Janet Reger, Shellys shoes, Next and Clarks. He works with footwear manufacturers and designers around the world and has also worked with the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation advising factories on ethical working practices and Western design aesthetics.
